Legendary rock promoter Bill Graham described Phillips’ music as “a fusion of folk, rock, jazz, funk, progressive, pop, electro, classical and global folk”! 

Phillips retired from music in the mid-1990s despite having had a critically acclaimed career, though in recent years he has recorded and gigged.
