Mattie Schell is at the forefront of the newest crop of young artists redefning Americana music

Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, she deftly blends the heartfelt honesty of American roots with the raw power of soul, creating a sound that has roots in tradition but is proudly and uniquely her own. Her debut solo release Everything Means Nothing was produced by JD Simo at his studio and mixed at Nashville's historic Compass Sound Studio (aka "Hillbilly Central"). Schell gives fans a sneak peak of the new record with the Delta soul-infused single "Coast to Coast" about the challenges of life on the road and alienation that comes from being away from your loved ones. Other stand out tracks include the sultry but grooving "Rivertown Trip," about a visit to the historic Mississippi River town Alton, IL with Mattie in full voice augmented by bluesy telecaster from Simo and swampy B3 from Mark T. Jordan (Bonnie Raitt, Van Morrison), "Come Back to Me" which tells the story of antebellum mansion in Alton that served as a stop on the Underground Railroad and the album's title track "Everything Means Nothing" which is a stirring anthem to the power of true love.

Mattie Schell began her professional career as a member of River Kittens, a St. Louis-based band celebrated for its harmonies, heartfelt lyrics, and raw energy. Recently, Schell has been a frequent performer with the Allman Betts Family Reunion, a Southern rock collective led by Devon Allman and Duane Betts
