Since emerging in 2019 as award winning BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Muisician, Maddie has been an artist striving to make a difference in the world

Through their delicately ornamented vocal style, to music that challenges perceptions and aims to shed light.

Maddie's writing doesn't come from anger, but hope. Through storytelling, lived experience and the embodiment of second- wave Feminism's 'the personal is political' this album takes you on a journey. Maddie takes your hand, and walks you through their navigation of the world touching on queer joy, liberation, history, hope and vulnerability. Following the critical acclaim of their debut EP "Upstream" (Oct 2022) Maddie has worked again with producer Pete Ord and this album was recorded at The Studio at Sunbeams, a recording studio- come Community Music Therapy space in Cumbria.

Maddie is joined by a force of outstanding artists on this release, including Archie Churchill-Moss, Belinda O'Hooley, Bryony Grifth, George Sansome, Janice Burns, Kath Ord and Matt Downer. The combined sound of such outstanding musicianship seeks to augment the poignant songwriting, whilst allowing space for Maddie's solo voice, which has captivated audiences across the UK.

Released on No Masters, the long awaited debut album from Maddie Morris is an intimate, hopeful and political look into identity. Steeped in tradition, Skin includes rallying cries and personal refection combined with Maddie's soaring vocals and optimism for change.
