Dando Shaft were a psychedelic/progressive folk and folk jazz band and known primarily as one of the major influences on the progressive stream of the 1960s folk revival.

They released four studio albums from 1970 to 1977 and at the encouragement of an Italian promoter, Dando Shaft re-formed for a week-long concert series in Italy in 1993. An Italian live album Shadows Across the Moon was released from material recorded during this session but was never released anywhere else.

Talking Elephant have managed to secure the master tapes and remaster the album with the original engineer and are able togive this album the much deserved release it warrents.
