 Blue Cheer were an American rock band established in 1966 in San Francisco, and they are considered by many to be the first heavy metal band.
 ‘Junk’ includes seven previously unreleased cover songs, plus the last ever live performance of ‘Summertime Blues’ with bassist / vocalist Dickie Peterson, the band’s only constant member (who passed in 2009).
 The band’s final studio album, ‘What Doesn’t Kill You’, was released in 2007.
