Top DJs Of The 21st Century

04.06.2021

DJing is a skill that is easy to learn but becoming a top DJ isn’t something that is easy to do. There are more than a million professional DJs out there and a few of them just might inspire you to become a DJ or to listen to more music. With their creative use of beats and the latest vinyl music, the world’s top DJs will have you moving your feet and pumping your fist in the air in no time.

With that in mind, we are going to take a look at some of the top DJs of the 21st century:

David Guetta- David Guetta is an influential DJ who introduced EDM to the pop genre. Guetta spent many years honing his DJing skills in many European clubs. He first made it into the US pop charts in 2009 in collaboration with Black Eyed Peas. You may notice his signature works everywhere. Whenever top singers want to get a catchy song with a feel-good house hook, they often consider working with Guetta.

Skrillex- in the 2000’s, dubstep was just an edgy music genre that we heard in East London clubs. Skrillex, born Sonny Moore, contributed much to the mainstream popularity of dubstep in the pop music industry. Songs of Taylor Swift and other popular artists have those distinctive wub-wub-wub sounds. From Bonnaroo to Lollapalooza, Skrillex made frequent appearances in various summer festivals spinning vinyl and pumping up the crowds.

Avicii- Avicii was a popular Swedish DJ who could earn a six-figure payment when performing in an hourlong set at a music festival. He could give you an instant surge of serotonin with his well-known tunes. Avicii passed away near Muscat in April 2018 and his cause of death wasn’t officially given. There was no criminal suspicion on his death, but media sources suspected that it was a suicide by self-inflicted wound.

Tiësto- born Tijs Michiel Verwest, Tiësto is an extremely popular DJ in Europe. He is known for synth bombs in his works and Tiësto performed in many large music festivals, including the opening ceremony of Summer Olympics. Tiësto often featured chunky electro-based grooves and shiver-inducing trance sounds.

Armin Van Buuren- Buuren is a popular music producer and DJ of trance genre. He was regularly picked by DJ Magazine as a top-ten DJ. He hosts ASOT (A State of Trance), a weekly radio show broadcasted on more than 100 stations in 84 countries. The show helped to cultivate his stardom and he contributed hugely to popularising the trance genre.

Afrojack- Afrojack is a progressive and electro house DJ, and he is also an influential music producer. He also appears regularly in top 10 list of the DJ Magazine. Afrojack worked with various artists, including NE-YO, Pitbull and Eva Simons.
