However, for our summer party on 30 August 2025 - which also celebrated my 85th birthday - Andreas Brandis presented me with a uniquely special gift. For more than ten years now, he has been continuing what I began at ACT in 1992. More than 20 ACT artists\u003cbr\u003espanning three generations had signed up for this special day, and Andreas formed them into different and contrasting line-ups - featuring rising stars, established artists and some of the defining figures of European jazz.\u003cbr\u003e “It is no exaggeration to say that this proved to be the most wonderful birthday celebration I have ever had. It was a day which never stopped delivering musical moments that were impressive, deeply moving or indeed both.
