Death metal for death metal maniacs by death metal maniacs, Exponential Decay combines gooey, viscous riffing with slamming propulsion, vaguely sci-fi atmosphere with black emanations from beyond, straddling a unique line between the knuckle-dragging and the cerebral. And yet, within its three surprisingly epic tracks, the 22-minute EP retains a vastness of approach that suggests further spelunking to come; the stark ‘n’ stylish cover provides more clues.
