Nothing should have had such a big impact on HB Nielsen's music as the diversity of his traveling years. Musically, it's easy to draw to mind the countrymen Daniel Norgren, who equally independently and earthly conveys the folk blues of today, and fngerpicking folk- giant The Tallest Man On Earth. While stateside H.B picked up a guitar instead of the hockey stick. Being able to strum just a few chords, he started writing songs for fun while studying poetry and fction writing. A few years later, right before he was supposed to enroll at an MFA program, writing and playing music took a back seat as he picked up a tattoo machine and pursued a tattooing career while traveling the road. Those ideas were the foundation of what became the debut album From\/Home.
