Their years on the ACT label, from 1996 until the tragically early death of Esbjörn Svensson in 2008 were “a period of almost continuous artistic growth” - The Jazz Mann. They often played around a hundred live shows a year. Their album sales now approach the one million mark. They appealed to a far larger audience than jazz normally reaches. And yet they also left their mark on the generation of jazz musicians who followed them.\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e Stuart Nicholson described ‘Good Morning Susie Soho’ as “darkly lyrical [and] fiercely contemporary.” It was named Album Of The Year For 2000 by Jazzwise magazine. For this album, the vinyl master was made from analogue tapes by\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eClasse Persson at CRP Recording.\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e ‘Plays Monk’ is from before the band’s international breakthrough.
