Hope is joined by the Ukrainian pianists Alina Pronina, Roman Fediurko and Vitalii Kyianytsia. Together, they reveal music shaped by memory and displacement, belonging and renewal.

The programme includes the world-premiere recordings of Alexey Shor’s Footprints in the Sand and Kyianytsia’s Adagio from the ballet The Perfect Scent, alongside Leontovych’s Shchedryk, a melody heard around the world, yet unmistakably Ukrainian.

Tracklist
ALEXEY SHOR: FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND*
VALENTIN SILVESTROV: ELEGIE NO. 1 FROM 5 PIECES
BORYS LYATOSHYNSKY: MELODY
MYKOLA LYSENKO: ELEGY
SERGEI BORTKIEWICZ: ALBUMLEAF NO.1 FROM 4 PIECES FOR VIOLIN AND PIANO, OP. 63
MYKOLA LEONTOVYCH: SHCHEDRYK (Arrangement for Violin and Piano: Paul Bateman)
YAKIV STEPOVY: PRELUDE NO.1 FROM 3 PIECES OP. 9 (Arrangement for Violin and Piano: Paul Bateman)
ALEXEY SHOR: VIOLIN SONATA NO. 1 – I.
