The idea for ‘Ghosts’ came from Terry’s idea to reference the Jazz greats who have gone to glory leaving behind their astonishing musical legacies. Within days of emailing a comprehensive list of jazz artists to Chicago House luminary and The It\/ Jungle Wonz member, Harry Dennis, an answer with Harry’s sparse, haunting vocals was received. These were laid down over a bed of live instruments and electronic sounds and the combined talents of The Spaces Between created the compelling jacking jazz vibe of ‘Ghosts’.\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e \u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eSnowy ran the track past Jo Wallace at F*CLR Records – it was love at first listen. Broken in the US by the Godfather of House, Frankie Knuckles, ‘Where were you’ entered into the hallowed halls of immortal dance music. Black Science Orchestra has become one of the most respected deep house acts of the 1990s, with the revered album ‘Walter's Room’ and the legendary genre crossing 'New Jersey Deep' track that is considered one of the top dance tracks of all time and rarely leaves discerning DJs' record boxes. Fast forward 29 years and original BSO founding fathers, Ashley and Rob decided that both they and the world needed the sound of Black Science Orchestra again and decided to reform, inviting long time musical and studio accomplice Darren Morris to join the collective now in its 6th incarnation!\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e \u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eWhen presented with the original version of ‘Ghosts’, Rob, Ashley and Darren loved it and all heard various ways it could be reworked in a true Black Science Orchestra way. However, once they were off the terraces and in the comfort of a friendly North London boozer, they discussed the idea further and Dan's vision of Stuart recalling his decades long career in the UK house scene resonated. Mr Patterson had been thinking along similar lines for a long time and they both felt there was a need for a roll call of some of the most important names from those early days, which was woefully overdue. The last thing Stuart had imagined is that it would be him telling the story, merging some of his own DJ’ing memories. So, after some cajoling and 3 pints of Red Stripe later, Dan got Stu talking into his recorder whilst Dan's demo track played in the background and Stuart’s stream of consciousness took shape. The duo thought there was need for a memorable hook that invoked the essence of a classic house track, so Dan got on the blower to Carmy Love, chanteuse extraordinaire from the London House Choir and, with the addition of her blistering vocals, the track began to take build into something substantial. A further musical heavyweight was approached, and Dan went into the North Street West studio with international musical maestro and studio manager, Darren Morris who added exemplary keys and additional instrumentation alongside their dual production and arrangement.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e‘UK House Sermon’ stands proudly alongside many US house fables and its delivery pays homage to the likes of The Streets, ‘Weak Become Heroes’, Ashley Beedle and Earl Zinger’s ‘Ghost Dancers’ and Daft Punk’s ‘Teachers’.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWith remixes already in the bag from the mighty XPress 2, the North Street West gang of Ashley Beedle, Jo Wallace and Darren Morris also flex their remix muscles, making this one of the strongest packages of 2025.
