Also from the Ram \u0026amp; Liftin HQ came tracks for the Deep Seven label in 1993 and all these rare DAT masters have been located and now re-cut by Simon, the original Ram \u0026amp; Liftin vinyl masterer at ‘The Exchange’. Initially, Deep Seven remasters will present on a printed white label and unreleased tracks will have a black label. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e* Two more previously unreleased tracks from Desired State that were found in the vaults continuing their exploration of the ‘unknown lands’ of Junglistic Drum and Bass. ‘Terra Incognita’ carries a haunting atmosphere over precision tooled breaks and deep sub basses with a vocal sample taken from 'Deep Space Nine' which was a new show at the time. Under their usual guise as 'Desired State', ‘Expansion' was originally the B side to their Hardcore smasher ‘Dance The Dream’. Not long after, two further remixes (Remix 1 \u0026amp; 2) were created for the flip side to the ‘Dance The Dream’ Remix that followed. Both feature here in all their original Hardcore glory. Remastered from the original DAT for 2021, they continue as part of the Liftin Spirit Reloaded series on limited heavy weight vinyl.\u003cbr\u003eTurn On: This track was Andy C and Ant Miles’s first ever collaboration together as Desired State, from what eventually became the Ram HQ studio in Hornchurch, Essex. Originally signed to Karma Records in 1991, it was oddly licensed to a label in the States and returned to the UK as an import! The track did so well, even as a higher priced import, it gave the pair the encouragement to continue on their path in the studio together and the rest is history as they say. With Hardcore still prominent in the raves at the time, ‘Beyond Bass’ was their first 'Amen Break' tear up together. Featuring the Grace Jones vocal 'Annihilating Rhythm', as well as the 'Give it to me baby' sample, the instant bass drops and ambient strings and pads combination tore up dancefloors around the globe. A year on from the original, the duo revisited ‘Beyond Bass’, this time utilising the latest time-stretch technology in the Akai sampler by moving the pitch of the amen break in all directions. The original flip ‘Killer Beat’, was created from the pair going on a tangent with most of the original sounds from Beyond Bass. Andy \u0026amp; Ant created a darker vibe whilst pushing the envelope with the rhythms over new style oscillating bass lines. Suburban Base Records founder Danny Donnelly (Q-Bass), revisited 'Killer Beat' in 1994, resulting in a more solid and fresh approach with phasing breaks and stop effects.
