From 1968 to 1981, Yves Montand deserted the stage and devoted himself entirely to cinema. But when, in September 1973, the “coup d'etat” in Chile led to the arrival in France of a large number of political refugees, he could not remain indifferent. It is in their favor that, faithful to his commitments to the left, Yves Montand returns to the stage of the Olympia on February 12, 1974, for a unique concert, broadcast live on the radio.

After a very short preparation, which he himself compares to an athlete's training, the one who "sings with his body", according to Marilyn Monroe's formula, revisits his successes, the songs of Jacques Prévert and the songs of the Commune that he canceled to make known. All this, accompanied by the faithful Bob Castella and his orchestra, with a furiously joyful energy!
