George Michael takes us back to the year 2002 with his Top 10 hit ‘Freeek!’ (which includes samples from Aaliyah’s No.5 hit ‘Try Again’ and Q-Tips’ ‘Breathe And Stop’), followed by the JXL remixed Elvis Presley track ‘A Little Less Conversation’, which reached #1 in 13 countries!
Girls Aloud made their debut and had the Christmas #1… Massive R&B hits from Nelly & Kelly Rowland, Mary J. Blige and P!nk, as well as HipHop from Missy Elliot and Blazin’ Squad. Neighbours star Holly Valance’s #1 debut single ‘Kiss Kiss’ appears alongside floor-fillers ‘Murder On The Dancefloor’ and ‘The Ketchup Song’. Céline Dion’s powerhouse vocals close the disc with her stellar track ‘A New Day Has Come’.

Opening disc 2 are Top 10 anthems from Robbie Williams and Coldplay, followed by the platinum certified single from Oasis ‘Stop Crying Your Heart Out’. Pure Pop dominated the charts in ’02, represented here by Liberty X, Christina Milian, Vanessa Carlton, Westlife and Blue. Pop-Rock from Busted with their debut single ‘What I Go To School For’ and Avril Lavigne with her Grammy-nominated track ‘Complicated’. Pop Idol finalists Gareth Gates and Will Young round off disc 2 with their respective #1 singles ‘Anyone Of Us’ and ‘Evergreen’. But we don’t stop there…

Heading into 2003 on disc 3 with an incredible run of #1s from Elton John, Room 5 featuring Oliver Cheatham, t.A.T.u., Christina Aguilera, Will Young, and huge hits from Dannii Minogue, Electric Six with the unforgettable ‘Danger! High Voltage’ plus ‘Shut Up’ from The Black Eyed Peas alongside Katie Melua’s debut ‘The Closest Thing To Crazy’.

The diversity of genres in the charts of the early noughties is highlighted by Evanescence who took their debut single ‘Bring Me To Life’ to #1, and followed by Pop-Rock from Good Charlotte and The Darkness. Pop excellence from Dido with the Brit Award-winning single ‘White Flag’, Kylie Minogue and her 7th UK #1 single ‘Slow’ and Rachel Stevens with ‘Sweet Dreams My LA Ex’. Fatman Scoop & Crooklyn Clan plus 50 Cent bring us big HipHop hits from the States, plus contemporary R&B from Big Brovaz and Blu Cantrell feat. Sean Paul. Stereophonics prepare to close the disc, ahead of two Top 10 alt-rock classics from R.E.M. with ‘Bad Day’ and Radiohead’s ‘There, There’.
